Job Responsibilities:
As a Delivery Driver at Aeroton Bakery, your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and Delivering Stock:
- Ensuring the correct stock is loaded onto the vehicle as per the invoice and picking list.
- Delivering the right stock to customers according to the invoice.
- Returns Management:
- Uplifting buybacks and returns as per claim and uplift documentation.
- Accurately capturing returns and damaged stock received from customers on the Handheld Computer (HHC), and ensuring it is returned to the debriefers.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Completing maintenance checks and routine activities related to Simba vehicles in line with company policies and procedures.
- Keeping the delivery vehicle clean, both inside and outside, ensuring it’s in good working condition at all times.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensuring all Proof of Deliveries (PODs) are clear, accurate, and comply with Simba policies and procedures.
- Adhering to health, safety, and security regulations, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) compliance.
- Customer Interaction and Route Management:
- Communicating effectively with customers to provide a smooth delivery experience.
- Following pre-planned routes and delivery schedules while adhering to road traffic regulations.
- Team Collaboration:
- Managing a delivery assistant and ensuring the team operates efficiently.
- Maintaining flexibility and adaptability to changes in workplace needs or delivery schedules.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) and a Code 14 driver’s license (EC) with Horse & Trailer endorsement.
- PDP (PrDP – Professional Driver’s Permit) for public driving.
- A minimum of 2 years’ driving experience in a similar role, preferably in the food and beverage sector.
- Proficiency with Handheld Computer (HHC) devices for capturing delivery information.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
- A strong commitment to safety, health, and compliance with company policies.
