Internship Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning and Development Intern to join our Academy Operations Team in Midrand, Gauteng. This fixed-term contract position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in training coordination, digital learning platforms, and corporate education administration.

As an intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth training operations—both in-person and online—while supporting learners, presenters, and the broader Academy team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, professional development, and organizational learning.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Essential: Matric (Grade 12) certificate
  • Preferred: A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, HR, or Learning and Development

Experience & Skills

While prior experience is not mandatory, the following will be advantageous:

  • 1+ year in Training Administration, including managing enrollments, scheduling, and learner support
  • Experience with Online Learning Platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Learner Management Systems)
  • Familiarity with virtual training setups, including webinar hosting and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Strong written and verbal English proficiency for professional communication
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service orientation
  • Ability to maintain a professional virtual presence during online training sessions

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Training Coordination & Administration

  • Manage delegate communications via email and phone, addressing course-related inquiries promptly
  • Process training registrations, ensuring accurate data capture on the Learner Management System (LMS)
  • Organize and archive registration forms, maintaining an efficient digital filing system
  • Assist in logistics for in-person training, including venue setup, printing materials, and arranging catering

2. Virtual Training Support

  • Facilitate smooth online training sessions by welcoming delegates, conducting onboarding, and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Guide learners on using virtual platforms, ensuring seamless participation in webinars and e-learning modules
  • Monitor attendance and engagement during live sessions, providing real-time support as needed

3. Reporting & Feedback Management

  • Generate training completion certificates and distribute them to participants
  • Compile post-training feedback from delegates to assess program effectiveness
  • Assist in preparing client training reports, summarizing key metrics and participant evaluations

4. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify opportunities to enhance training delivery, suggesting improvements for both in-person and virtual formats
  • Stay updated on e-learning trends, contributing ideas for modernizing training methodologies
  • Support the Academy team in testing new digital tools to improve learner engagement
