Shoprite Group of companies is Hiring Stock Controller – Inventory Control and Receiving Role

Shoprite Group of companies seeks a dedicated Stock Controller in Pretoria, Gauteng. Play a key role in inventory management and ensure optimal stock levels.

As a Stock Controller, you’ll be the cornerstone of our inventory management process. Your work will ensure that goods are accurately received, stored, and distributed, helping to maintain the efficiency and profitability of our operations. What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep our inventory running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accurate Receiving of Goods:
- Compare goods received with invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Capture invoices of goods received on the system promptly and accurately.
- Verify that delivered goods match the invoice in terms of quantities, variants, and conditions.
- Stock Management:
- Process all returns to suppliers in compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain an orderly and acceptable store room condition.
- Assist in managing and controlling high-risk stock.
- Discrepancy Handling:
- Identify discrepancies and report them to the manager.
- Return unordered or damaged goods and complete credit notes accurately in line with company policy.
- Operational Support:
- Handle labour-intensive tasks such as lifting heavy boxes and offloading pallets.
- Assist with other duties and departments as required to support operational needs.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A Grade 12 qualification.
- At least 1+ years of relevant working experience in a retail or FMCG store operations environment.
- A strong understanding of stock management principles and best practices.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Great problem-solving abilities and sound numeracy skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Office 365, and knowledge of how the SAP system works.
