Clover is seeking a proactive Merchandiser for our Clayville branch! Help us maintain stock levels and deliver quality dairy products to South African households.

Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Ordering:
- Manage Stock Levels: You will be responsible for ensuring that stores are fully stocked with Clover products. This includes monitoring stock levels and placing orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stock Control Measures: Implement effective stock control measures both in-store and in backup areas to ensure proper stock handling and to avoid any stock discrepancies.
- Returns Management: Minimize returns and ensure that all returns are accurately recorded and written up according to the store’s work plan.
- Avoid Stockouts: Proactively prevent out-of-stock situations by regularly monitoring stock levels and reporting any issues to the Area Manager.
Merchandising & Shelf Management:
- Product Presentation: Maintain clean and neatly displayed products on the shelves at all times. Ensure that products are always presented according to the store’s planograms or shelf plans provided by the AM.
- Fridge Maintenance: Ensure that fridges are always properly stocked, clean, and organized to maintain the freshness of perishable products.
- Point of Sale Material: Install and maintain point of sale (POS) materials at designated locations, ensuring that they are visible and well-kept to promote product visibility.
- Shelf Labels & Pricing: Ensure that all products have accurate price labels and that the shelf labels are correctly aligned with the products, maintaining consistency across all store displays.
Relationship Building & Communication:
- Collaboration with Store Management: Build and maintain strong business relationships with store management, customers, and fellow merchandisers. This will help ensure smooth operations and the successful implementation of merchandising strategies.
- Communication with Team: Effectively communicate with the Area Manager, Head Office, and other merchandisers to keep everyone informed about stock levels, product availability, and any issues that may arise.
- Customer Focus: Ensure that all actions and decisions are customer-focused, providing exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction with product availability and display quality.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders, and returns to ensure that all administrative tasks are up to date.
- Reporting: Provide timely and detailed reports to the Area Manager regarding stock levels, merchandising activities, and any other relevant information related to your assigned stores.
Opportunity Maximization:
- Product Placement: Identify and exploit opportunities to enhance the visibility and availability of Clover products on the shelves. This includes arranging products in high-traffic areas and utilizing promotional spaces to boost sales.

- Administrative Abilities: Basic administrative skills to handle reporting, stock control, and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Grade 12 or equivalent National Certificate (NQF4) is required.
- Work Flexibility: You should be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the retail environment.
- Experience: Previous experience in merchandising or retail is advantageous but not essential.
- Competencies: Ability to influence, act with honesty and consistency, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
