About the Role
As a Production Learner, you will report directly to the Production Foreman and play a vital role in the tyre manufacturing process. This learnership is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a production environment, while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. You will work as part of a team to assemble tyres within targeted cycle times, ensuring efficiency and precision at every step.
This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Brits, South Africa, and it offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a world-class manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
During the learnership programme, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments of equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- 3S Maintenance: Maintain Sort, Set in Order, and Shine (3S) standards in your work area to promote efficiency and organization.
- Equipment Checks: Inspect and ensure all controls on the building machine are in good working order.
- Material Handling: Remove empty spools, trolleys, and rolls from the machine and return them to the component section.
- Storage Management: Push viewed raw covers into storage bays for further processing.
- Supply Solutions: Supply necessary solutions to the machine to ensure smooth operations.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A minimum of Grade 12 or an N3-N5 Certificate.
- Subjects: Mathematics (Pure Maths) and/or Physical Science are required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
