What You’ll Do
As an Apprentice Level 1, you’ll dive into the world of automotive repair and maintenance, gaining practical experience in a variety of areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engine Expertise: Remove, recondition, and replace cylinder heads; dismantle, service, repair, and assemble engine blocks and main components.
- Fuel Systems: Diagnose and replace fuel system components.
- Electrical Systems: Understand basic electronics, test ignition system components, and remove, test, repair, and replace electrical components.
- Transmission and Clutch: Remove and replace clutch and transmission components.
- Brake Systems: Diagnose and repair brake systems and components.
- Advanced Learning: Study the fundamentals of engine efficiency and forced charging systems.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A Grade 12 certificate with Maths and Science.
- An accredited tertiary qualification related to the automotive field.
- A passion for the motor industry and a willingness to learn.
- Mechanical skills and an eye for detail.
- The ability to work with accuracy and speed.
