Programme Overview
Thos Begbie & Co is offering apprenticeship opportunities in the following trade:
- Moulders x2
As an apprentice, you will be immersed in a structured training programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical, on-the-job experience. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of the trade while contributing to real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Moulder Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and Assembling Moulds: You will learn how to create and assemble moulds using various materials such as sand, resin, and metals.
- Operating Machinery and Tools: Gain hands-on experience in operating specialised machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring Quality Standards: Play a role in maintaining high-quality production standards to meet industry requirements.
- Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Adhere to strict safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organised, and hazard-free workspace.
Requirements
- Education: A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is required.
- Technical Qualifications: A minimum N2 Certificate with the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- N3 Mechanotechnology, N4 Mechatronics, or N2 Moulders Theory.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Technical knowledge and a keen interest in engineering.
- Self-motivation, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
- Good ethical behaviour and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow safety standards and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
