What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day

1. Boilermaker Support

You’ll work closely with qualified Boilermakers, helping them with their daily welding and fabrication tasks in the Welding Bay. This includes prepping tools, handling materials, and ensuring the correct equipment is ready for each job.

2. Component Assembly & Disassembly

You’ll assist in assembling and disassembling metal components, playing a critical support role during the build or repair of fabricated structures. This may include bolting, lifting, or holding items in place as part of a team.

3. Tool Management

You’ll learn how to identify tools, prepare them in advance, and make sure artisans have easy access during complex tasks.

4. Rigging Assistance

Some tasks may involve rigging and moving heavy components. You’ll support safe lifting, slinging, and placement of metalwork, using your strength and judgment under supervision.

5. Housekeeping and Safety

Safety and cleanliness are a major part of any industrial environment. You’ll help maintain cleanliness in the workshop, ensure tools are stored properly, and keep walkways clear. Good housekeeping reduces risk and keeps the work environment compliant with occupational safety standards.

6. Parts and Component Retrieval

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

Educational Requirements

Experience
