Duties & Responsibilities
As a Cleaner at Barrydale Community Clinic, your daily tasks will include:
- General Cleaning & Maintenance
- Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
- Scrubbing and sanitizing surfaces to prevent infections.
- Cleaning furniture, windows, and high-touch areas like door handles.
- Emptying dustbins and ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Linen & Laundry Handling
- Sorting soiled linen according to hygiene protocols.
- Ensuring clean linen is stored properly for patient use.
- Proper Use of Cleaning Materials
- Using detergents and disinfectants safely and effectively.
- Following correct dilution and application methods.
- Reporting low stock or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintaining a Safe & Hygienic Environment
- Adhering to infection control policies.
- Identifying and reporting potential hazards (e.g., spills, broken equipment).
- Equipment & Stock Control
- Handling cleaning machinery (e.g., floor polishers, vacuum cleaners).
- Assisting with basic stock checks to ensure supplies are available.
