Eligibility Requirements: Who Should Apply?
To be considered for this competitive apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Academic Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Authentic)
- Must include Pure Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy is not accepted).
- Physical Science is mandatory.
Additional Academic Advantage
- Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) is advantageous.
- Technical Subjects: Welding/Platers Theory is essential.
For N3 Certificate Holders
Applicants must have successfully completed:
- English
- Engineering Mathematics N3
- Engineering Science N3
- Trade Theory (advantageous but not mandatory).
For NCV Level 4 Certificate Holders
Applicants should possess:
- English at NCV Level 4 or as a First Additional Language.
- Pure Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) at NCV Level 4.
- Engineering Science subjects such as Engineering Processes, Professional Engineering Practice, and Applied Engineering Technology.
- Welding/Platers Theory (required).
