Role Overview

As a Bus Driver at Steyn City School, you will play a critical role in ensuring students travel safely to and from school. Beyond just driving, you will be responsible for creating a secure and welcoming environment for all passengers, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring the vehicle is always in top condition.

This role requires a highly responsible and safety-conscious individual with experience in transporting children. You will be expected to follow all traffic laws, conduct routine vehicle checks, and assist students when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe and Reliable Transportation
  • Transport students and other passengers between Steyn City School and designated locations.
  • Ensure all safety measures are in place before, during, and after each trip.
  • Assist students as they get on and off the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Adhering to Traffic and Safety Regulations
  • Follow all traffic laws and school transport policies.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and always drive responsibly.
  • Attend mandatory safety meetings and adhere to updated school transport guidelines.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections
  • Regularly inspect the bus before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any defects, accidents, or mechanical issues immediately.
  • Keep the bus clean and well-maintained to ensure a comfortable ride for students.
• Supporting School Operations
  • Maintain discipline and order among students while on the bus.
  • Assist with venue setups and other school-related transportation needs when required.
  • Carry out other maintenance or driving duties as assigned by school management.

Minimum Requirements

• Education & License:
  • Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
  • Valid law 10 motorist’s License with a Professional Driving Permit( PDP).
• Experience & Skills:
  • At least one year of experience as a driver, preferably working with children.
  • A clean driving record, demonstrating responsibility and reliability.
