Key Responsibilities
As a Security Guard, your primary duties will involve:
- Ensuring the safety and security of client properties, assets, and personnel.
- Monitoring and patrolling designated areas to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity.
- Responding promptly to emergencies or suspicious activity, following established protocols.
- Collaborating with law enforcement when necessary to ensure public safety.
- Maintaining detailed reports of daily activities, observations, and incidents.
As a Supervisor, in addition to the above, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and overseeing a team of security officers to ensure effective performance.
- Conducting routine inspections and spot-checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinating with clients and management to assess and address security needs.
- Developing and implementing security procedures and protocols tailored to the client’s specific requirements.
Requirements for Security Officers
- Grade 10, 11, or 12 qualification.
- A legitimate Grade C Certificate issued by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in physical guarding and security roles.
- A valid SAPS (South African Police Service) clearance certificate.
- The individual must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in English with fluency.
These qualifications ensure that you can handle the responsibilities that come with maintaining security in various environments and interacting with clients and the general public.
Requirements for Supervisors
If you are applying for the role of a Supervisor, the following criteria must be met:
- Education: Grade 12 qualification.
- Certification: A valid PSIRA Certificate for Grade B and A.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience within the security industry.
- Clearance: A valid SAPS clearance certificate
- Additional Certification: A valid firearm business purpose competency certificate.
