Your Role as a Security Officer
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all security protocols, company policies, and estate regulations are followed at all times. This includes enforcing rules and procedures, as well as ensuring that your team and subordinates adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Access Control and Patrols
You will be responsible for managing access control, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the premises. Regular patrols, both on foot and using technology, will be a key part of your role. These patrols are essential for preventing irregularities and incidents, as your visible presence acts as a deterrent to potential transgressions. - Incident Management
In the event of any irregularities or incidents, you will be expected to handle the situation with professionalism and efficiency. This includes gathering all necessary details (such as who, what, when, why, how, and where) and reporting the incident promptly to the Manager and Control Room. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively will be crucial in these situations. - Policy Enforcement
You will ensure that all security personnel and subordinates comply with company and estate policies. This involves providing clear instructions, monitoring adherence, and addressing any breaches in a firm but respectful manner. - Team Collaboration
Security is a team effort, and you will work closely with your colleagues to maintain a safe environment. Supporting and working with others, while demonstrating assertiveness and professionalism, will be key to your success in this role.
Skills and Competencies
To excel in this role, you will need:

Qualifications
- A Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- A PSIRA Grade C certification.
- A clear criminal record.
