Job Purpose: What the VIP Security Officer Does

The VIP Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of Hollywoodbets branches. You will be responsible for maintaining high-level security standards, managing guest access, monitoring surveillance systems, and protecting both property and people.

You will also serve as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a professional and courteous welcome while maintaining vigilance at all times. This role is as much about protection as it is about guest engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

• Conduct perimeter checks before the branch opens.
• Patrol both the interior and exterior of the branch, including parking areas.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and report any suspicious activity.
• Ensure two-way radios and panic buttons are functional at the start of each shift.
• Prevent entry of underage individuals and enforce entry protocols.
• Ensure that weapons, alcohol (in unlicensed branches), and bags are not brought into the facility.
• Enforce the no-credit-betting policy and prevent any unauthorized use of payout machines.

Guest Interaction & Service

• Welcome every guest with professionalism: “Good day, welcome to Hollywood.”
• Assist guests with directions, inquiries, and issues, maintaining a guest-centric approach.
• Use appropriate language and gestures when addressing guests, especially during disputes.

Compliance & Safety Protocols

• Attend morning briefings and report any incidents by 10:00 AM daily.
• Support stock deliveries and participate in alarm tests as directed.
• Follow uniform policy strictly (black shoes, black socks, white vest, name badge).
• Maintain personal readiness and physical fitness required for the position.

Code of Conduct

• No sitting, lounging, phone use, smoking, or eating while on duty.
• Never abandon post or fall asleep during shift hours.
• Refrain from accepting gratuities or engaging in personal conversations with guests.
• Report for duty sober, alert, and two hours in advance if absenteeism is unavoidable.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• It is required to register with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority, or PSIRA.
• At least one year of professional security experience, preferably in high-risk environments.
• High level of physical fitness and alertness.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• An additional benefit will be having a current driver’s license from South Africa.
