Role Description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Millwright at the Khanyisa Factory. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your skills in both mechanical and electrical engineering.As an apprentice, you will be on a temporary assignment where you will learn and apply technical skills to support our business through both restorative and preventive maintenance. You will work closely with experienced facilitators and mentors who will guide you through your learning journey. Your role will involve completing various tasks as requested by the business, ensuring you gain a comprehensive understanding of the millwright trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industry Exposure: Be prepared to work in both engineering and operations environments, gaining hands-on experience in real-world settings.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Develop strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Training Attendance: Commit to full-time attendance for all classroom and practical training sessions.
  • Technical Tasks: Engage in mechanical and electrical tasks, applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Participate in on-the-floor equipment maintenance as outlined by the program details.
  • Problem Solving: Take part in technical problem-solving activities, honing your analytical skills.
  • Corrective Maintenance: Assist in the closure of tags as part of corrective maintenance activities, ensuring equipment is functioning optimally.

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should be a team player who is fluent in English and prepared to work in challenging environments, including heights, noisy, and dusty conditions. You must also be willing to work shifts and extended hours when required.
