Job Overview: Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (Fixed-Term)

This is a temporary position (6-month contract) for a skilled ultra-heavy motor vehicle driver with strong operational knowledge, defensive driving techniques, and experience with large combination vehicles. Job Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties involving the safe, efficient, and professional operation of ultra-heavy-duty vehicles. These include:

Pre-Trip & Post-Trip

  • Conduct full pre-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Report and document any mechanical issues or safety concerns.

Transportation

  • Operate ultra-heavy-duty vehicles (including Superlinks/Interlinks) across designated routes.
  • Handle the safe loading and offloading of cargo.
  • Transport goods following company safety procedures and route plans.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete and submit delivery documentation, trip sheets, and fuel logs accurately.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company protocols.
  • Attend and complete mandatory training modules, induction processes, and practical driving evaluations.

Safety & Maintenance

  • Understand how to use fire extinguishers and respond to roadside emergencies.
  • Maximize fuel efficiency and reduce wear-and-tear through cost-effective driving techniques.
