About the Role:
As a Grade C Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of mining operations. Your responsibilities will include managing physical security deployments, adhering to the Mine Health and Safety Act, and maintaining a secure environment for personnel and assets. This position requires a disciplined, vigilant, and physically fit individual who can work efficiently in a high-risk environment.
Key Requirements:
- Valid PSIRA Grade C Certification (Mandatory)
- Matric (Grade 12) Certificate
- Physical fitness (the role may involve patrolling and responding to incidents)
- Must reside in or near Middelburg or be willing to relocate
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Effectively managing all aspects of mining security operations
- Overseeing physical security deployments to prevent unauthorized access
- Conducting regular security checks and reporting any breaches
- Responding promptly to emergencies and security threats
Background Checks & Assessments:
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, all shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo the following checks:
- Integrity Test (Polygraph Examination) – Selected questions will be administered to verify honesty and reliability.
- Credit Background Check – To assess financial responsibility.

- Illegal Substance Test – A mandatory drug screening.
