Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Grade 12 certificate (Matric).
  • Experience:
    • Between 1 and 2 years of cleaning experience.
    • Stock taking experience or inventory control knowledge.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Basic understanding of First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles.
    • Strong attention to personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
    • Ability to work under pressure and complete assigned tasks responsibly.
    • Must be punctual, neat, and responsible at all times.
    • Capable of complying with OHS regulations and emergency protocols.

Key Responsibilities

As a Skilled Environmental Monitor at Groenkloof National Park, you will be entrusted with a variety of daily operational and environmental maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning Duties: Perform routine cleaning of offices, reception areas, passages, ablution blocks, and open areas. Maintain cleanliness across all assigned zones.
  • Meeting Room Setup: Prepare and maintain boardrooms and meeting areas, including the setup of refreshments for official gatherings.
  • Waste Management: Empty waste bins, collect and transport waste to designated disposal areas, and promote good waste management practices.
  • Stock and Inventory: Assist with the issuing, receiving, and control of cleaning materials. Participate in stock-taking activities to ensure accurate supply management.
  • Reporting: Promptly report any maintenance issues, abnormalities, or safety concerns to supervisors for timely resolution.
  • Lost Property Management: Handle and record lost items in accordance with SANParks procedures.
  • Consumables Management: Replenish consumable items such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper regularly.
  • Team Support: Provide assistance during emergencies, cover shifts when required, and perform ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors.
