The Opportunity:
Are you someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves to stay busy, and enjoys the satisfaction of a job well done? We’re looking for a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our bustling warehouse team. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our Shared Services Business Unit, playing a key role in maintaining our high standards of excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Picker/Packer at Servest, your role is multifaceted and essential to our operations. Here’s a closer look at what your day-to-day will entail:
- Picking and Packing: Your primary responsibility will be to accurately pick and pack items as per our operational requirements. You’ll ensure that every item is handled with care and packed securely, ready for dispatch to our valued customers.
- Loading and Dispatching: You’ll load stock onto containers for dispatch. This requires attention to detail and efficiency, ensuring that everything is correctly prepared for the next stage of our logistics process.
- Warehouse Duties: While picking and packing will be your main focus, flexibility is key. Occasionally, you’ll assist with other warehouse duties such as receiving shipments, performing stock counts, and general housekeeping.
- Stock Maintenance: Keeping our inventory organized and up-to-date is crucial. You’ll help with stock maintenance, ensuring that all items are stored properly and that our stock levels are accurately tracked.
- Cycle Counts: You’ll be responsible for conducting daily cycle counts. This helps us maintain accurate inventory records and ensures that we can meet our customers’ needs without delay.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re searching for someone who brings both experience and enthusiasm to the role. Here’s what we’d like you to have:
- Educational Background: Ideally, you have completed Grade 12. If you have additional qualifications in warehouse management or supply chain, that’s a plus!
- Technical Skills: A good grasp of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is important, as these tools will be part of your daily tasks. Familiarity with systems like Granite and AccPac would be beneficial.
- Experience: We’re looking for individuals with 2-3 years of prior experience in a warehouse setting or a similar role. Your experience will help you hit the ground running and adapt quickly to our environment.
- Licenses: If you hold a valid reach truck or forklift license, that’s advantageous. It means you’ll be able to assist with various tasks in the warehouse more effectively.
