Department of Community Safety and Transport Management: Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme 2024/2025

The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management in the North West Province is proud to announce the launch of its Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme. This initiative is designed to equip young individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the safety and efficiency of road traffic management in the province. What Is the Programme About?

The Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme aims to provide unemployed youth within the North West Province with structured learning that leads to a recognized qualification. This program not only offers academic learning but also hands-on, practical experience in traffic management, ensuring that you gain all the skills required to succeed in this field.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to unemployed individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 who meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Must have a Grade 12 Certificate or National Vocational Certificate Level 4 (Statement of results will not be accepted).
  2. Essential Documentation:
    • Valid RSA Identity Document.
    • Clean Police Criminal Clearance Certificate (not older than three months), strictly from the South African Police Service.
  3. Health & Fitness:
    • A valid medical certificate proving that you are physically fit to complete strenuous physical activities, issued by a registered health professional.
  4. Driving Skills:
    • It is essential to possess a valid South African driver’s license for manual transmission vehicles, limited to the following code categories: Code 08, 10, or 14. Unfortunately, licenses for automatic vehicles will not be considered.
  5. Residency:
    • Applicants must reside within the North West Province and must submit proof of residence. This could be a letter from your municipality or a traditional council.
  6. Bank Account:
    • All applicants must have a valid bank account, as this will be required for the stipend payments.

Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R9,000 throughout the duration of the learnership, which lasts for three years. This stipend will help cover living expenses while you focus on your education and training.

Programme Details

During the learnership, you will receive both theoretical and practical training in various aspects of traffic management. This includes gaining expertise in traffic law enforcement, road safety education, and more. You will also have the opportunity to work with traffic professionals in real-world settings, ensuring you get the most comprehensive experience possible.

Important Considerations

Please note the following when applying:

  1. Incorrect Applications:
    • Applicants who use the incorrect Z83 form or fail to complete it correctly will be disqualified. Only fully completed and signed Z83 forms will be accepted.
  2. References:
    • Applicants should attach a Curriculum Vitae (CV) that includes the contact details of three references. If you have any qualifications, be sure to mention them in your CV.
  3. Application Form:
    • You must complete all parts of the Z83 form, including Part F, which involves a crucial question relating to candidate status.
  4. Compulsory Documents:
    • Certified copies of all of your educational credentials, including any short courses or skill-building courses, must be attached. This guarantees the completion of your application.
  5. Strict Deadlines:
    • Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted, and no faxed or emailed applications will be considered.
  6. Interviews:
    • Only shortlisted candidates will receive interview invitations. If you do not receive a response from the department within three months after the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
