Job Purpose:
As a Retail Shop Assistant, your primary goal is to maximize sales through exceptional customer service and to provide each customer with a WOW experience. You will be a key player in our sales team, ensuring that every interaction with our customers is nothing short of magical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Deliver AWESOME customer service that leaves customers with a lasting impression.
- Attend to the unique and individual shopping needs of each customer, always putting them first.
- Ensure customers receive prompt and relevant assistance both on the sales floor and over the phone.
- Adhere to all basic customer service standards, consistently exceeding expectations.
- Sales and Product Knowledge:
- Determine customers’ requirements and provide expert advice on product range, prices, and warranties.
- Demonstrate, explain, and recommend products to customers, highlighting their features and benefits.
- Achieve sales targets by effectively selling goods and promoting add-on sales and services.
- Merchandising and Display:
- Ensure that products are correctly priced and attractively displayed to draw customers’ attention.
- Execute promotions in a timely and organized manner, ensuring they are planned in advance.
- Maintain adherence to merchandising layouts, housekeeping standards, and schedules.
- Stock Management:
- Participate in stock takes and stock counts, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies.
- Minimize stock loss through diligent oversight and proactive measures.
- Report fast and slow-moving products to the Store Manager, suggesting strategies for optimization.
- Operational Excellence:
- Minimize expenses within your area of responsibility while maximizing sales opportunities.
- Protect company assets by following all security protocols and guidelines.
Entry Requirements:
- Education: Matric Certificate
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months in a retail environment
- Transportation: Must have own or reliable transport to work shifts
General Duties:
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by Senior Management.
- Fulfill all mandatory and service training requirements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
- Participate in regular appraisals and personal development reviews.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Cooperate fully in the introduction of any new technology and methods.
