To support our dynamic and growing operations, we’re looking for a dedicated and proactive Security Shift Supervisor to join our team in Randfontein.
If so, we want you to be our next Security Shift Supervisor! This pivotal role involves overseeing the security and safety of our site, managing our security personnel, and ensuring smooth operations for incoming and outgoing goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: As the Security Shift Supervisor, you will lead and supervise a team of security officers, ensuring they are present and effective in their roles. You’ll be responsible for managing the correct number of guards on-site and ensuring their tasks are carried out efficiently and professionally.
- Site Security: Conduct regular inspections and audits of the plant’s security measures to ensure they are up to standard. Regular site patrols are crucial, and you’ll be accompanying security officers during these patrols to address any issues that arise promptly.
- Operational Oversight: Your role involves overseeing the security of incoming and outgoing trucks and products. This includes verifying product details, checking weights, and ensuring correct invoicing. You’ll also assist in identifying any irregularities with trucks and take immediate corrective action as needed.
- Document Control: Ensure that all necessary documents are completed and submitted when raw materials are offloaded. You will also be responsible for issuing exit permits as proof of delivery.
- Access Control: Maintain a smooth flow of traffic by managing the access of all vehicles entering and leaving the premises. This includes liaising with the weighbridge to handle any issues related to the weight of trucks.
- Contractor and Safety Management: Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Coordinate evacuation activities and respond promptly to any safety hazards or emergencies.
- Invoicing and Records: Handle the invoicing of grocery and raw material trucks or loads with precision and timeliness.
- Emergency Response: As the designated First Aid representative on-site, you will handle any medical emergencies, complete Incident of Duty (IOD) forms, and transport patients to the hospital if needed.
- Team Support: Provide support to the front desk security clerk and weighbridge staff, ensuring that all aspects of security and operations are covered effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate is essential.
- Qualifications: Security Officer Grade certification is required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Security Supervisor, with a minimum of 2 years dealing with customers and visitors.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and strong organizational skills are crucial. You should have a solid understanding of security operations and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
