Job Overview
The Miner position plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient underground mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing blasting activities, supervising mining teams, and ensuring that production targets are achieved without compromising safety or compliance standards.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 qualification, or equivalent NQF Level 4
- Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ previous experience in trackless mining operations
- Proven experience in the following underground mining areas:
- Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM)
- Conventional development
- Stoping operations
- Hydropower drilling
- A Mining Production Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous
- Basic computer literacy will be advantageous
- Valid South African Driver’s License (Code 8 to 10)
- South African citizenship is required
- A clear criminal record
Candidates must be physically fit for underground mining work and able to operate effectively in demanding mining environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of operational and supervisory duties within the mining section.
- Providing operational support and applying best mining practices within assigned mining sections
- Executing and controlling blasting activities in line with production schedules and safety requirements
- Ensuring that blasting operations are efficiently planned, executed, and monitored to achieve production targets
- Planning, supervising, and controlling subordinates working in both stoping and development areas
- Allocating tasks and monitoring performance to ensure productivity and compliance
- Ensuring the availability of equipment, tools, and materials required for mining operations
- Coordinating with engineering, logistics, and supervisory teams to minimise downtime and production delays
- Maintaining strict compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and all site-specific safety procedures
- Conducting workplace inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Promoting a strong safety culture in line with Gold One Group’s safety motto
- Ensuring accurate reporting of production, incidents, and operational challenges
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the mining section
