PepsiCo South Africa hiring experienced Code 14 driver with PDP

PepsiCo South Africa is looking for PDP drivers with experience in Code 14. Assist Brits Bakery’s transportation staff in maintaining the efficiency of our supply chain!
About the Role: Temporary Long-Haul Driver (2 Positions Available)
We’re currently hiring two temporary long-haul drivers to join our dedicated transport team at Brits Bakery. This role is vital to keeping our supply chain moving and ensuring our customers receive their products on time and in perfect condition. If you’re a reliable, skilled driver with a valid Code 14 license and a keen sense of responsibility, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a long-haul driver, you’ll be entrusted with the responsibility of transporting bakery goods — both in bulk and bagged format — over long distances between different units or customer sites. You will operate heavy-duty vehicles with a gross weight of up to 23,000 tons. The job requires more than just getting behind the wheel; it demands attention to detail, safety awareness, and a genuine sense of care for the cargo, vehicle, and road users.
Your key tasks will include:
- Timely and Reliable Delivery:
Ensuring that products are delivered punctually and without damage. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the reputation of Brits Bakery through consistent, professional delivery service. - Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance:
Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. You’ll check tyres, lights, trailer couplings, oil, water levels, and ensure everything meets safety requirements. - Cleanliness and Care:
Keeping the truck clean and in good condition — both inside and out. Bodywork should be well maintained, and all tools or spare wheels must remain accounted for. - Fault Finding:
In the event of a mechanical issue or breakdown, you’ll need to perform initial diagnostics and, where possible, take corrective action — such as changing a tyre. - Communication:
Staying available via cell phone during shifts to ensure constant communication with dispatchers or supervisors. - Accountability:
We value honesty, punctuality, and integrity. You’re expected to take ownership, especially when fatigue sets in, and communicate openly about challenges on the road.
Who You Are: Qualifications and Qualities
We’re looking for more than just a driver — we’re seeking someone who understands the responsibility of transporting essential goods that millions rely on.
To be considered, you should have:
- A Matric (Grade 12) certificate
- A valid Code 14 Driver’s License
- Good mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting

- Make a tangible impact: You’re not just moving goods; you’re helping ensure that our customers enjoy fresh, delicious products every day.
