If you’re an unemployed South African youth looking to gain valuable skills and a formal qualification, the 2025 NYDA and merSETA Learnership Programme could be the perfect opportunity for you. This 12-month learnership focuses on the automotive sector — specifically in Car Parts Sales and Marketing — and offers a chance to earn a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 4 certificate. It’s open to young people aged 18–35 from provinces across South Africa, including Gauteng, Western Cape, Limpopo, Free State, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, and more.

This is not just any learnership — it’s a stepping stone toward a stable and rewarding career in one of South Africa’s essential industries. If you meet the criteria and are committed to personal growth and future employment, this is a chance you should not miss.

What Is the NYDA and merSETA Learnership Programme?

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), in partnership with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), is offering a structured 12-month learnership opportunity. The aim is to empower unemployed youth with relevant industry skills and practical experience in the automotive industry — with a focus on Car Parts Sales and Marketing.

Upon successful completion of this programme, learners will receive a nationally recognized NQF Level 4 certificate, giving them a competitive edge in the job market and the confidence to pursue careers or further education in the automotive or sales sectors.

Who Can Apply?

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old
  • Education: Must hold a certified Matric certificate
  • Identity Document: A certified copy of your South African ID is required
  • Unemployment Status: Must be unemployed and not currently participating in any other learnership
  • Commitment: Must be available for the full 12-month duration of the programme
  • Document Validity: All certified documents (ID and Matric certificate) must be no older than 6 months

Only applicants who meet every requirement will be considered. Unfortunately, if your documents are outdated or if you’ve already been part of a similar programme, your application will be disqualified.

Why You Should Apply
