What the 2025 Apprenticeship Program Offers
Starting in January 2025, our Apprenticeship Program offers training in various specialized trades, including Lithography Press, Electronic Pre-Press, Mechanised Bookbinding, Gravure Press, and Sheetfed Press. Over 36 months, you will undergo a blend of theoretical and practical training designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in your chosen trade. Here’s what the program entails:
Phase 1: Theoretical Training (4-5 Months)
Your journey begins with a solid foundation in the principles of your chosen trade. This phase involves approximately 4-5 months of intensive theoretical training at our state-of-the-art academy. You will learn from experienced instructors who are experts in their fields, ensuring you gain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of your trade. The curriculum is designed to be both challenging and rewarding, laying the groundwork for your future success.
Phase 2-4: Practical Training (26-30 Months)
Following your theoretical training, you’ll move on to the core experiential component of the program. Over the next 26-30 months, you’ll work hands-on at Novus Print Montague Gardens, applying what you’ve learned in a real-world setting. You’ll be guided by seasoned professionals who will mentor you as you refine your skills and gain invaluable experience. This phase is where you’ll truly grow, developing the confidence and competence to excel in your trade.
A Holistic Learning Experience
Throughout the three-year apprenticeship, you’ll benefit from a holistic learning approach that combines classroom instruction with practical experience. Our partnership with the FP&M SETA ensures that the program meets industry standards, and our collaboration with Printing SA adds another layer of expertise to your training. By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll be well-prepared to take the respective trade tests, a crucial step toward becoming a certified tradesperson.
No Obligation, Only Opportunity
One of the unique aspects of our Apprenticeship Program is that there is no contractual obligation for permanent placement in your trade after completing the program. While we hope to retain talented individuals who excel during their apprenticeship, we understand that career paths can vary. Our primary goal is to equip you with the skills and experience you need to succeed, whether that be with Novus Print or elsewhere in the industry.
