About the Opportunity:
As an Apprentice Level 1, you’ll work closely with our experienced technicians and gain practical skills in vehicle repair and maintenance. This is a four-year apprenticeship program designed to provide you with comprehensive training and experience in the automotive field.
Motus Toyota City Apprenticeship Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll have a variety of tasks that will help you develop your skills and gain valuable experience:
- Vehicle Repairs:
- Assist with repairing vehicles by following the instructions provided by a qualified technician. Your hands-on involvement will help you learn the intricacies of vehicle maintenance.
- Parts Replacement:
- Learn how to remove and replace various parts and units from vehicles, gaining familiarity with the different components and their functions.
- Vehicle Lifting:
- Safely jack up vehicles and secure them on trestles, ensuring that the work environment is safe for both you and your colleagues.
- Lubrication and Oil Changes:
- Under supervision, you’ll lubricate parts and change oils according to the specifications outlined in the vehicle’s manual, learning the importance of proper maintenance.
- Wheel and Filter Work:
- Remove and replace wheels, as well as air and oil filters, to understand the significance of these routine tasks in vehicle upkeep.
- General Assistance:
- Provide support with various vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks, from battery replacement to cleaning parts and maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop.
- Housekeeping:
- Keep your work area and tools clean and organized. This includes ensuring that your overalls and work environment are tidy and following all safety rules.
- Training and Development:
- Attend prescribed technical and level courses to further your knowledge and skills. This will be an essential part of your apprenticeship journey.
- Additional Duties:
- Be prepared to perform any other reasonable duties that may arise from time to time, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science is required. This educational background will provide a solid foundation for the technical aspects of the role.
- Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a Motor Mechanic Trade qualification will be given preference, as this will be beneficial in understanding the technical requirements of the job.
- Driver’s License: While not mandatory, having a valid Driver’s License will be an advantage, as it shows a readiness to drive and handle vehicles.
- Criminal Record: A clear criminal record is essential for this role to ensure safety and trustworthiness within the workshop environment.
