About the Role
As a Security Officer at Lancet Laboratories, you will be responsible for surveillance and access control to ensure the safety of the laboratory and its personnel. Your role will involve monitoring activities, managing access points, and responding to any irregularities promptly and professionally. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of security and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Surveillance and Monitoring
- Use CCTV cameras and physical patrols to monitor all laboratory floors, ensuring no unauthorized individuals enter the premises.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter potential security breaches and ensure a safe environment.
- Access Control
- Manage access to the building and car park using remote controls, ensuring only authorized vehicles and personnel are allowed entry.
- Direct visitors and patients to the appropriate areas, providing assistance as needed.
- Asset Protection
- Safeguard vehicle keys for couriers and nursing staff, ensuring they are stored securely and accounted for at all times.
- Verify that staff exiting the building with company property (e.g., laptops) have the necessary authorization letters.
- Incident Reporting
- Report any irregularities, security breaches, or safety concerns to the Laboratory Manager or relevant Pathologist immediately.
- Document incidents accurately, including details such as who, what, when, where, and how.
- Team Collaboration and Safety Compliance
- Work effectively as part of a team to maintain a safe and organized working environment.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, safety protocols, and legislative requirements, including infection control measures and proper disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
- Participate in quality assurance processes and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Customer Service
- Represent Lancet Laboratories with professionalism and integrity, providing exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, and medical professionals.
- Handle conflicts or challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Education: Grade 10 qualification.
- Experience: 0-1 years of relevant work experience in security or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control technology is an advantage.
