What We’re Looking For
We’re inviting applications from individuals who are eager to learn and develop their technical skills. To be eligible for our apprenticeship program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: You should have completed Grade 12 with a strong focus on Mathematics.
- Residency: Ideally, you should live in Pinetown or the surrounding areas.
- Employment Status: We are looking for candidates who are currently unemployed.
Furthermore, it is essential that you have passed the following subjects at NQF Level 4:
- Mathematics or Technical Mathematics (Mathematics literacy will not be accepted)
- Physical Science or Technical Science
- N3 Diesel Trade Theory and/or N3 Mechanotechnology
- Engineering Graphic and Design

- Maintenance Mastery: You’ll gain insights into maintaining workshop equipment, ensuring it’s always in good repair—a vital skill in any technical environment.
- Record Keeping: Throughout your apprenticeship, you will maintain a logbook documenting the projects you undertake and the skills you acquire. This will serve as a valuable resource for your personal and professional development.
- Professionalism Matters: We expect our apprentices to maintain a smart appearance and act professionally at all times, embodying the values of Komatsu.
- General Housekeeping: You will learn the importance of maintaining a clean and organized workspace, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
