Minerals and Petroleum Resources Job Vacancy As Driver

The Office of the Deputy Minister for Minerals and Petroleum Resources is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Driver. Salary: R183,279 per annum (Level 04)
Location: Head Office

What We’re Looking For:

To be considered for this role, you should have completed Grade 10 (NQF level 3) and hold a valid driver’s license. While previous experience is not required, we are seeking someone who is keen to learn and ready to make a difference. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the efficiency of our operations, so having a good grasp of the following key competencies is essential:

  • Knowledge: You should have an understanding of the Public Service Act and a broad awareness of the functional areas overseen by the executive authority’s portfolio. Familiarity with South Africa’s political and parliamentary processes will be beneficial.
  • Skills: Computer literacy is important, as you’ll need to navigate digital systems and maintain records. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders. We value creativity and interpersonal skills, as these will help you in your day-to-day interactions and problem-solving tasks.
  • Thinking Demand: This role requires a logical mindset, creativity, and innovative thinking. We need someone who is objective and accurate in their work, yet diplomatic in handling sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and Deliver Documents: Ensure timely and secure delivery of important documents between various departments and external entities.
  2. Transport Employees and Guests: Safely transport employees of the executive authority, as well as special advisors and guests. Your role will involve ensuring their comfort and punctuality during travel.
  3. General Support: Provide general support functions within the office, which may include running errands, managing minor administrative tasks, and assisting with other duties as required.
  4. Policy and Procedure Knowledge: Stay informed about the policies and procedures that govern our work environment. This knowledge will help you navigate your responsibilities effectively and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
