The Role:
As a Receptionist at Intercare Northriding, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they step through our doors. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a smooth and professional patient administration process. This involves managing the reception area with a warm and approachable demeanor, handling patient interactions with care, and ensuring all administrative functions are performed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Exceptional Service:
Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to every patient who contacts us via phone or visits our centre. Your goal is to create a positive first impression and set the tone for their visit. - Manage Patient Documentation:
Assist patients with completing necessary forms accurately and ensure that all information is recorded in accordance with our internal policies and procedures. - Handle Reception Processes:
Oversee the entire patient journey through the reception process, including booking appointments, managing patient arrivals, and processing payments efficiently and accurately using our systems. - Direct and Assist:
Guide patients to the correct locations and services within our centre and connect them with the appropriate professionals as needed. - Maintain Confidentiality:
Uphold patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). - Keep the Reception Area Tidy:
Ensure that the reception area is always clean, organized, and welcoming for our patients and visitors. - Handle Emergency Situations:
Refer any emergency cases promptly to the nurse’s station according to established protocols. - Address Basic Queries:
Assist with basic account queries and escalate more complex issues as necessary. - Manage Payments:
Collect co-payments and account balances in line with Intercare’s policies and ensure adherence to daily cash-up and banking procedures.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric).
- Experience: While previous experience in a customer-focused service role (such as reception) is advantageous, we are open to candidates with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers is essential; experience with the GoodX system will be an advantage.
