What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a motivated apprentice to train as a qualified tradesman in instrumentation. This role is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about gaining hands-on experience and knowledge as an artisan in their chosen field. By completing our comprehensive apprenticeship program, you’ll gain invaluable skills and experience that will set you up for a successful career.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing the Apprenticeship Program: You’ll be engaged in a structured 3–4-year apprenticeship that meets both company and SETA requirements. This is where you’ll start to build your expertise and skills in instrumentation.
- Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Adhering to all safety, health, and environmental procedures is crucial. You’ll be expected to keep your workspace safe and clean, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Gaining Knowledge and Experience: Through hands-on training, you’ll learn how to locate and handle plant equipment, spares, and relevant documentation/systems. You’ll also be involved in planning, budgeting, and preparing for various tasks.
- Evaluating and Repairing: You’ll develop the skills to assess and repair breakdowns and perform maintenance tasks, contributing to the continuous improvement of plant and process equipment.
- Optimizing Processes: Your role will involve finding ways to enhance and optimize plant processes and systems, adding real value to our operations.
- Technical Competence: You’ll build specific technical skills related to machinery and instrumentation, which will be crucial for your future career.

- Training Commitment: The readiness to attend training sessions in Johannesburg as part of the apprenticeship.
What You Need to Apply
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science: A solid foundation in these subjects is crucial.
- National Technical Certificate (N4): Completion of this certificate is necessary for various trades, including instrumentation.
- Higher Qualification: While not essential, having additional qualifications such as N5/N6 in the relevant engineering discipline would be advantageous.
