Key Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • A current driver’s license with a Code 10 or Code 14
  • A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least 2 years of professional driving experience
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (such as catering gear)
  • Experience with towing trailers (up to 2.5 meters wide)
  • Familiarity with local roads and routes in your area
  • Reliable personal transport to and from your work location

Essential Skills:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence using GPS and basic digital tools
  • Professional, respectful behavior — especially around grieving families
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities You’ll Take On

As a Casual Catering Driver, your daily tasks will vary but will always focus on providing reliable, respectful, and efficient transport services for Icebolethu’s catering team and clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Punctually arriving at designated pickup and drop-off points
  • Handling catering gear — loading, unloading, and storing equipment appropriately
  • Complying with all traffic laws and internal company protocols
  • Communicating respectfully with clients and families on-site
  • Reporting mechanical issues and arranging timely repairs or maintenance
  • Following safety guidelines and financial procedures during operations
  • Supporting your team with other catering-related tasks as assigned

This role may require occasional weekend or after-hours availability, depending on event needs — so flexibility is a big plus.
