GreenCape invites Unemployed youth graduates to apply for an internship focused on sustainable agriculture. Main aim is to contribute to a greener South Africa while gaining valuable experience.

GreenCape is looking for motivated Graduate Trainees to join their team and contribute to projects that promote the green economy, with a specific focus on sustainable agriculture. The successful candidates will assist with research, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, and report writing, all while supporting the organization’s mission to foster a sustainable agricultural future in South Africa.
Role Overview:
As an intern at GreenCape, you will play an essential role in supporting the ongoing efforts in the sustainable agriculture sector. You will also work closely with various project and delivery teams, conducting research and analysis to inform key decisions and strategies. You will also engage with stakeholders such as farmers, policymakers, and industry experts to gather insights and foster collaboration, ultimately contributing to the sustainable development of South Africa’s agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: You will Conduct in-depth research and analysis to support ongoing projects in sustainable agriculture.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Also Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including farmers, industry experts, and policymakers to gather valuable insights and foster collaboration.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing events, workshops, and meetings related to the green economy and sustainable agriculture.
- Report and Document Preparation: Help prepare reports, publications, and documents for various stakeholders, including funders. You will ensure that content is accurate, high-quality, and aligned with project objectives.
- Data and Market Research: Contribute to data collection, market research, and strategic planning efforts to support project activities.
- Database Management: Assist with maintaining up-to-date records of project activities, meetings, and stakeholder interactions.
Qualifications:
- A postgraduate degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field such as Engineering, Science, Resource/Agricultural Economics, Finance, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.

Knowledge and Experience:
- While prior professional experience is not required, relevant experience such as academic research, report writing, or involvement in project support would be advantageous.
- Exposure to stakeholder engagement, event coordination, or data collection would be beneficial but not essential.
Skills and Competencies:
- Research and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to conduct research, analyze findings, and present results clearly in reports and publications.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for engaging with stakeholders and contributing to team discussions.
- Problem-Solving: A critical thinker who can prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.
- Proactive and Independent: A self-motivated and curious mindset with a willingness to learn and grow in your career.
- Interest in Sustainable Agriculture: A solid understanding or a keen interest in sustainable agriculture practices will be an advantage, though not required.
