About the Role
As a Storeman, you’ll be an integral part of our operations team, supporting the Store Controller in various administrative tasks and ensuring that our store runs like a well-oiled machine. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administrative Support: You’ll assist the Store Controller with all administrative tasks related to the store. This includes maintaining records, organizing documentation, and ensuring that everything is in order for efficient operations.
- Housekeeping Duties: A clean and organized workspace is vital for safety and productivity. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the store and work areas are properly maintained, promoting a tidy environment for all staff.
- Stock Management: You will play a key role in conducting daily and monthly stock takes. This is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that we have the right products available when needed.
- Receiving Deliveries: You’ll be responsible for receiving packaging and ingredients from our suppliers. This includes checking for quality and accuracy, ensuring that all items meet our standards before they are accepted into inventory.
- Issuing Stock: In collaboration with production and other departments, you’ll issue stock as needed. Your attention to detail will ensure that everyone has the materials they require to do their jobs effectively.
- Compliance and Safety: You’ll maintain compliance with key standards such as 20 Keys, HACCP, and Risk Control. Understanding and adhering to food safety controls and procedures will be a crucial part of your role, ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements.
Who We’re Looking For
- Educational Background: A Matric certificate or equivalent, along with a relevant store qualification, will set you up for success in this position.
- Experience: We’re looking for someone with at least three years of experience in a store environment. Your previous experience will help you navigate the challenges of this role efficiently.
- Technical Skills: Being computer literate is essential, as you will be using various software and systems for inventory management and reporting.
- Licenses: A valid Reach Truck and Forklift license is a must, as you’ll be handling equipment to move stock safely and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Fluency in English and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You’ll be working closely with various teams, so the ability to communicate effectively is crucial.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills will help you juggle multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring that everything runs smoothly in the store.
- Flexibility: We need someone who is willing to work shifts, including overtime and weekends as required. The ability to adapt to changing schedules is important in this role.
