Key Responsibilities
As an apprentice, you will engage in a variety of essential tasks designed to equip you with practical skills and industry knowledge:
- Comprehensive Learning Experience: Participate in an in-depth training program combining theoretical learning and practical application. Successfully complete all required modules, skills assessments, and hands-on training to prepare for real-world challenges.
- Skill Application: Utilize your acquired skills in a supportive workplace environment. Work alongside seasoned professionals who will mentor you as you gain valuable experience in the mining sector.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of your learning journey, including your logbook and training documentation. This will be essential for tracking your progress and achievements.
- Safety Commitment: Learn the importance of maintaining a safe working environment. Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, focusing on risk management and contamination control.
- Performance Goals: Strive to achieve your personal balanced scorecard and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Regular feedback will help you refine your skills and enhance your performance.
- Accurate Reporting: Develop skills in documentation and administration, providing accurate reports on completed tasks and contributing to overall productivity and cost control.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with N3 level mathematics and physical science or a Foundational Learning Certificate (FLT). Preference will be given to candidates with an N2 or higher in subjects like Maths, Science, Trade Theory, and Technical Drawings.
- NCV4 Qualifications: Completion of NCV4 in relevant subjects, including Maths, Physical Science, Industrial Science, Diesel Trade Theory, Technical Drawings, and/or Electrical Trade Theory.
- Driver’s License: A valid Code B driver’s license is required and must be obtained prior to the trade test.
- Analytical Skills: Basic analytical, technical, and mechanical reasoning abilities are essential for success in this role.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for effective collaboration and reporting.
