Key Responsibilities in This Role
1. Garden and Lawn Maintenance
- Mowing lawns, fields, and campus grounds using push or riding mowers.
- Edging around walkways, flower beds, and parking areas.
- Removing leaves, trash, and litter from assigned areas.
2. Sports Fields – With a Focus on Cricket Pitches
- Preparing and maintaining cricket and other sports pitches.
- Ensuring the turf is healthy, even, and game-ready.
- Marking fields, managing irrigation, and inspecting for damage or needed repairs.
3. Plant and Nursery Maintenance
- Pruning trees, shrubs, and hedges to preserve healthy growth.
- Planting flowers, foliage, and seasonal greenery in line with campus landscaping plans.
- Maintaining plant beds and specialty gardens.
- Applying safe and effective pesticides or insecticides where needed.
4. Tool and Equipment Use
- Safely operating and maintaining garden equipment like hedge trimmers, blowers, spreaders, mowers, and irrigation tools.
- Ensuring proper storage and cleaning of outdoor tools and supplies.
5. Landscaping and Grounds Improvement
- Following campus landscaping blueprints and design plans.
- Installing garden borders using cement and landscaping materials.
- Decorating outdoor and indoor areas as required for campus beautification.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Wearing appropriate protective gear and clothing.
- Reporting hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
7. Teamwork and University Culture
- Assisting the groundskeeping and sports facility teams during events or large projects.
