Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Cleaner, your role will be diverse and essential to the smooth running of our operations. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Facility Cleaning: You will be responsible for cleaning designated areas within our facility, including offices, restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas. This involves dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and washing to keep the spaces clean and hygienic.
- Maintenance Notifications: If you notice any deficiencies or areas that require repairs, you will need to inform the Facilities team promptly to ensure issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
- Team Cooperation: Working well with other team members is crucial. You’ll need to collaborate effectively to ensure that cleaning tasks do not disrupt the operations of the facility and that services are continuous and uninterrupted.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Following all health and safety regulations is a key part of your job. You must ensure that cleaning practices meet the necessary standards to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Stock Management: Ensure that there are adequate supplies of staff refreshments and cleaning consumables in the allocated departments. This will involve checking stock levels and replenishing items as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Educational Background: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent is required. This will provide the foundational knowledge needed for the role.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cleaner is advantageous, although not mandatory. Experience in similar roles can help you adapt quickly to our specific cleaning practices.
- Cleaning Knowledge: Familiarity with standard cleaning chemicals, supplies, and acceptable cleaning practices is important. Understanding general hygiene practices will also be beneficial.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Be prepared to assist with various tasks as needed. Flexibility in handling unexpected duties is a valued trait.
