What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements: To apply for this apprenticeship, you need to meet the following qualifications:
- A National N6 Certificate with Trade Subjects, or a National Diploma/B Tech/B Eng/BSc Eng in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Electronics Engineering.
- Alternatively, you can apply if you have:
- A National N4/N5 Certificate with Trade Subjects,
- Grade 12 with at least 50% in Maths and Physical Science, and 40% in English, or
- An N3 with at least 50% in Maths and Science, and 40% in English, or
- An NCV Level 4 with at least 50% in Maths and Science, and 40% in English.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- Applicants will undergo a recruitment process, and successful candidates will be placed in various divisions within Eskom Operations.

Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training that combines classroom learning with practical experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in both institutionalized training sessions and on-the-job training.
- Engaging in various tasks that will enhance your understanding of mechanical systems and operations within the power station.
- Collaborating with experienced professionals who will guide and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship journey.
