What This Role Entails
As a Porter/Driver at ANEW Hotel OR Tambo, you will be at the forefront of providing exceptional service to our guests. Your main responsibility will be to ensure their comfort and satisfaction from the moment they arrive at the hotel. You will assist with carrying luggage, offer guidance to guest rooms, answer questions about our facilities, and ensure that every guest feels welcomed and valued.
This role is a key part of the Front of House team, and your professionalism and positive attitude will play a vital role in upholding the hotel’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet Guests with Warmth and Professionalism: Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and ensure they feel valued and appreciated throughout their stay.
- Assist with Luggage: Safely and efficiently carry guest luggage to and from rooms, ensuring their convenience.
- Provide Hotel Information: Share details about our facilities, services, and accommodation rates to help guests maximize their stay.
- Address Guest Needs: Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries, messages, and any complaints to maintain the hotel’s positive image.
- Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with other departments such as housekeeping and the restaurant to ensure smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.
- Observe and Act Proactively: Stay alert to guest needs and offer assistance before being asked, ensuring every guest feels attended to.
- Uphold Safety and Security Standards: Drive guests safely when required and ensure their comfort during transfers.
What We Are Looking For
- Matric Certificate: A minimum educational qualification of Matric. A higher certificate or tertiary qualification in hospitality will be advantageous.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Porter/Driver, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Driver’s License with PDP: A valid driver’s license accompanied by a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) to safely transport guests.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and excellent customer service skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Physical Fitness: The ability to lift heavy objects when assisting guests with their luggage.
- Observant and Proactive Nature: Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate guest needs before they arise.
