Your Role as a Cleaner
As a Cleaner at the UIF, your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around ensuring that all areas within our building are kept clean, orderly, and well-maintained. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will take on a variety of cleaning tasks that are vital to the upkeep of our facilities:
- Office and Corridor Cleaning: You will be responsible for cleaning offices, corridors, elevators, and boardrooms. Your work ensures that these areas are always presentable and ready for use by staff and visitors alike.
- General Kitchen Cleaning: The cleanliness of our kitchen areas is critical. You will ensure that these spaces are sanitized and well-maintained, providing a safe and hygienic environment for everyone.
- Restroom Maintenance: Clean restrooms are a top priority. You will ensure that restrooms are regularly cleaned, stocked with necessary supplies, and maintained to the highest standard of tidiness and hygiene.
- Equipment and Supplies Management: Part of your role will involve keeping and maintaining cleaning materials and equipment. You will ensure that all cleaning tools are in good condition and that supplies are replenished as needed to support ongoing cleaning operations.
Who We’re Looking For
This position is ideal for someone who values cleanliness and has a strong work ethic. While no prior experience is required, there are a few key attributes and skills that we believe will help you succeed in this role:
- Educational Background: Basic Education and Training (ABET) is required, ensuring that you have the foundational skills needed to perform your duties effectively.
- Knowledge and Understanding: You should have a good grasp of cleaning procedures, general hygiene practices, and the proper use of cleaning products and applications. Familiarity with Batho Pele Principles will be beneficial, as these guide how we deliver services with respect, dignity, and care.
- Skills: Strong planning skills will help you manage your time and tasks efficiently. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for interacting with colleagues and supervisors. Listening skills are also crucial, as you’ll need to follow instructions accurately to meet our cleaning standards.
