What You’ll Do as a Client Service Officer

As a Client Service Officer in the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) unit, you will be the face of the Department at labour centres. Your daily work will include:

  • Assisting clients with UIF benefit applications
  • Providing accurate information about unemployment insurance policies
  • Supporting clients through the application and appeals processes
  • Ensuring efficient, people-first service in line with Batho Pele principles

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring citizens receive the support they need during unemployment, contributing directly to social stability and economic empowerment.

What You’ll Earn

  • Annual Salary: R269,499

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • No prior work experience required
  • Eagerness to learn and serve the public

  • Public Financial Management Act (PFMA)
  • POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act)
  • Treasury Regulations
  • Customer service principles and government service standards
  • UIF’s mission, vision, and values
  • Batho Pele Principles

Key skills: Communication, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle client queries calmly and respectfully.
