What Will You Be Doing as a Code 10 Driver?
As a VKB Code 10 Driver, you’ll do more than just drive a truck—you’ll play a key role in the successful operation of the retail and logistics team. Your daily tasks will include:
- Safe transportation of goods: Load, secure, and transport agricultural or retail products between various destinations. You will be expected to maintain road safety and compliance with traffic laws at all times.
- Accurate deliveries: Ensure that stock is delivered to the correct location, on time, and in full. Accuracy is critical—you’ll need to match goods against waybills and delivery notes.
- Stock control support: Oversee the loading and offloading of products, checking for damage, and verifying the correct quantities.
- Customer interaction: Provide friendly and professional service to clients at delivery points. Represent the VKB brand positively on the road and in communities.
- Incident reporting: Report any road incidents, vehicle problems, or delivery issues to management promptly and clearly.
- Vehicle care: Maintain the cleanliness and basic functionality of the truck you’re assigned. Report any mechanical issues for maintenance.
- Other administrative duties: Handle relevant paperwork related to each trip, such as delivery notes, vehicle logs, and compliance documents.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- A current PDP (Professional Driving Permit) and a valid Code 10 driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience in a similar role, ideally in retail, logistics, or agricultural settings
- Agricultural industry experience is a plus, but not essential
- Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple delivery assignments in a day
- Strong understanding of basic logistics and customer service principles
