About the Role
As a Reaction Officer with BSG Security Solutions, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding properties and responding quickly to incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Immediate Response to Alarms and Incidents: You will respond to security breaches, alarms, or any alerts that require swift action. Your role will involve identifying, assessing, and neutralizing potential threats, maintaining a strong security presence at all times.
- Professional Interaction with Clients and Team: As part of a team, you’ll be expected to communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues. You will need to follow security protocols and procedures, working closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: After handling incidents, you’ll be required to document the event accurately. This includes writing reports, detailing the situation, response measures, and outcomes, ensuring all necessary information is logged for future reference.
- Regular Patrols and Surveillance: As a visible deterrent to potential security threats, you’ll conduct regular patrols around assigned properties. Your presence helps reduce the risk of incidents and maintains peace of mind for clients.
Who We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a professional with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity. Security work demands patience, resilience, and quick decision-making skills.
- PSIRA Registered: You must hold a valid PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) registration, allowing you to operate within South Africa’s security industry.
- Firearm Competency: A valid firearm competency certificate specifically for business purposes is essential. You should be well-trained in handling firearms and understand the importance of responsible use.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required as you may need to operate security vehicles during patrols or in response to incidents.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both written and spoken, you should be comfortable interacting with clients and preparing reports. Communication is key to understanding and addressing the needs of those we serve.
- Availability for Shift Work: Security is a 24/7 commitment, and you must be willing to work various shifts. Flexibility is a must, as you may be required to work during nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Team Player: At BSG, we believe in a collaborative work environment. You should be able to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a cohesive security network.
- Experience: Candidates should have at least 2-5 years of experience in a similar role. Contactable references will be required to verify your work history and skills.
