Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Testing: Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues in machinery and engines.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Addressing reported problems promptly and effectively to minimize downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Providing consultation on correct maintenance practices and preventative measures to machine operators.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed logs of work performed and reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to the Mine Health & Safety Act regulations and company standards.
- Team Collaboration: Planning activities in accordance with production schedules and effectively communicating with relevant stakeholders to minimize delays.
- Training and Development: Assisting in the training and development of subordinates to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Certification: Relevant Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanics.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a Diesel Mechanic in Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) maintenance within an underground mining environment.www.govpage.co.za
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in the maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding of various TMM equipment, as listed above.
- Technical Skills: Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings for fault-finding purposes.

- Work Schedule: Be prepared to work shifts, standby duties, callouts, and overtime as required by the role.
