AFGRI is seeking a dedicated Picker and Packer for our East Rand warehouse. Play a vital role in order accuracy and efficiency while upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
As a Picker and Packer, your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on ensuring the smooth and accurate movement of stock in and out of the warehouse.
- Accurately pick stock: Using picking slips, you’ll select the correct items from the warehouse, ensuring that each order is correct and promptly ready for dispatch.
- Coordinate with dispatch: Once picked, the stock must be moved to the dispatch area for final preparation. Timely and efficient delivery to this area is essential to meet customer expectations.
- Monitor stock availability: In cases where items are out of stock or unavailable, you will need to inform the warehouse manager to avoid delays in processing orders.
- Loading assistance: You’ll also assist with the loading of equipment, parts, and other items onto client vehicles, ensuring they are safely and securely transported.
- Stock verification: Once packed, it’s essential to double-check that the stock matches the details on the picking slip before it is dispatched.
- Follow company protocols: Ensuring that all packages are packed in accordance with AFGRI’s company policies and procedures is crucial to maintaining the company’s reputation for quality.
- Stock taking and replenishment: You’ll participate in regular stock-taking activities and assist in investigating any discrepancies. Ensuring that stock is replenished correctly is also part of the role.
- Stock receiving: You’ll help store parts received from the receiving area, ensuring they are correctly allocated and organized.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace: Adhering to health and safety regulations is essential in maintaining a safe working environment. Keeping the workspace clean and organized helps prevent accidents and ensures smooth operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate is the minimum requirement for this role.
- Skills: You’ll need basic numeracy skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Experience: While no formal work experience is required, it’s essential that you can demonstrate good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Knowledge and Competencies
- Literacy: You should be able to read and write clearly, ensuring you can follow instructions and record necessary information.
