About the Role

As a Floor Assistant, you will be the face of our store, playing a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a memorable shopping experience. You will assist customers on the floor, maintain the store’s appearance, and support the overall operations of the retail environment. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Assistance

  • Greet and Assist Customers: Welcome customers with a warm smile and provide friendly, professional assistance throughout their shopping journey.
  • Product Knowledge: Be the go-to person for product information, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions by sharing insights and recommendations.
  • Problem-Solving: Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Sales Support

  • Drive Sales: Collaborate with the sales team to achieve store targets and contribute to the overall success of the business.
  • Visual Merchandising: Assist in setting up eye-catching product displays that attract customers and highlight our best offerings.
  • Store Presentation: Keep the sales floor organized, clean, and fully stocked to create an inviting shopping environment.

Inventory Management

  • Stock Handling: Help with receiving, unpacking, and organizing inventory to ensure products are readily available for customers.
  • Stock Checks: Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies to management to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Pricing and Labeling: Ensure all products are correctly priced and labeled, making it easy for customers to shop with confidence.

Store Maintenance

  • Cleanliness and Order: Maintain the overall tidiness of the store, including shelves, counters, and displays, to create a pleasant shopping atmosphere.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring the store environment is safe for both customers and staff.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Education: A Matric/Grade 12 (NSC) qualification is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Basic computer literacy.
  • Attributes:
    • A proactive and positive attitude.
    • The ability to work well in a team.
